Welcome to The Next Chapter
If you had asked my younger self what life would look like in my sixties, I probably wouldn't have predicted many of the twists and turns that shaped my journey.
Divorce wasn't part of the plan. Becoming a single parent wasn't part of the plan. Starting over—more than once—certainly wasn't part of the plan.
Like many women, I imagined a life that would unfold in a more predictable way. But life has a way of teaching us lessons we never expected to learn.
Looking back now, I can see that some of the most difficult chapters of my life became the very experiences that shaped who I am today. They taught me resilience. They challenged my assumptions. They forced me to make choices I never imagined having to make. Most of all, they deepened my understanding of what it means to struggle, heal, adapt, and begin again.
Those experiences didn't just shape me personally. They shaped the therapist—and the person—I became.
Over the years, I've learned that while every person's story is unique, many of us wrestle with the same questions:
How do I move forward when life doesn't go according to plan? How do I honor my responsibilities without losing myself? How do I create a meaningful life in the chapter I'm living now? And perhaps the question that quietly waits for many of us: What is my next chapter?
Sometimes that question comes after our children no longer need us in the same way. Sometimes it arrives when aging parents begin depending on us. Sometimes it surfaces in the middle of a successful career, when we've spent years caring for everyone else and suddenly realize we've lost touch with ourselves.
For many women—especially those raised in immigrant families—life often follows a familiar script:
Work hard. Be responsible. Take care of others. Don't complain. Keep going. Until one day we quietly ask,
Who am I beyond my responsibilities? That question is at the heart of this space.
Over the years, I've come to believe that many of us are living by invisible rules—beliefs that once helped us survive but may no longer help us thrive. We carry them so naturally that we rarely stop to question them.
The next chapter isn't about becoming someone else. It's about remembering who you've always been beneath the expectations, the obligations, and the roles you've carried for so long.
It's about making room for joy without guilt. Setting boundaries without believing you're selfish. Recognizing that your worth isn't measured solely by how much you do for others. And discovering that growth doesn't have an expiration date.
Whether you're 45, 55, 65, or beyond, there is still room for possibility. There are still dreams waiting for your attention. There are still parts of yourself waiting to be rediscovered.
This is a place where we'll explore relationships, family, boundaries, life transitions, purpose, reinvention, and the patterns that quietly shape our lives. Not because anyone has all the answers, but because some of life's most meaningful questions are worth exploring together.
